Three years back, the Panna Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh had close to 40 tigers. Today, one two tigers exist, not the original striped denziens of the forest, but two tigresses translocated from Kanha and Badhavgarh.

A painstaking combing exercise in Sariska Tiger Reserve, Rajasthan, revealed that there were no tigers left. All the tigers were poached out of existence. Total wipe out of tigers from the famed Sariska Tiger reserve was a national embarrassment.
