Rural Development Afforestation society is a non-government organization that aims at rural development and spreading environmental awareness about the rights of the Nature citizens. Their beneficiaries included women, children, small farms and marginalized Tribal Section of the community aims to preserve and regenerate village wastel and, Hills community Land, Lake bunds, Temple lands, Schools, in Tamil Nadu, Tiruvannamalai. District. level 23 villages and its surrounding village area the organization’s mission is to spread environmental awareness, its problems and solutions, and promote a harmonious balance between all living creatures through educational campaigns, cultural programme, and film shows programs. The society also coordinate with other organizations on similar causes Network programme around district level Environmental NGOs.

RDAS main funding donor is the rainforest information centre, Australia, and Earth way foundation, USA based in, Australia, Mr.John Seed, Director, Founded RDAS in 2003, iwht the help and support of RIC, Their Australian sponsor also sends deputy personnel to assist with RDAS operations. The RDAS non – profit’s current programs include:-
Project 2012-2013.
? To conservation, Reforestation and waste Land Development project 200,000 seedlings plant and maintain.
? To eco – awareness educational campaigns 50,000 seedlings distribution.
? To community wasteland development project Direct planting 100,000 seeding planting maintained.
? To around village lake bund conservation, 10 villages both side 50,000 seedlings planting and maintain.
? To village mountain reforestation, Afforestation project follow up.
? To contact environmental education to the school level implementing 1 one year 10 villages
? To promoting kitchen garden project around 23 villages. 10 schools one year project.
? To maintenance of a native Tree saplings nursery raise 500,000 and women development project.
? To non – formal educational for evening school project.
? To volunteers are needed with organic gardening sustainable agriculture skills to work on the RDAS at schools. The ability to work cooperatively and communicate. basic gardening and environmental concepts to students, is key month minimum or one year position, with a spring or fall 2003 start date.

RDAS main reforestation project creating village Nursery provides Saplings for regeneration of Reafforestation activities on Thanimalai Hill. as well as on village mountan, manalur pettai road. The nursery also supplies to individuals farmers, schools, Temples, NGOS and other educational institutions distributing free of cost seedings and RDAS project area planting and maintenance total seedings Raising 500,000 Native tree seedings and Herbals and flowers.

Reforestation Demo farm for conservation project:-
The reforestation Land in 2003 consists of an 50 acre area in Melka chirappattu, Lake bund where RDAS/RIC implements renewable energy models, Animal feeding, birds, soil conservation rainwater harvesting. Wind break and water management and Top soil conservation practices, The area also Thanimalai hill 40 acre reafforestation, sericulture farm, and community groups, women/farmers findout all the work open visiting center and school students and collage students Evalvate all the areas work.

Community waste land development/conservation/Reforestation activities:-
The RDAS society not only seeks the total revitalization of Thanimalai mount, but its surrounding village lands as well, surrounding Temple Lands Planting trees, 1.Aiyyanar Temple Land, 2. golaiamman Temple Land 3. Sellatha Temple land, 4. Ragavandra Temple land, 5. Kannamudaiyan Temple Land, 6. Kannimar Temple Land all temple wasteland are being replanted 2011, with fruit herbalinedicinal tree and flowering plants. To redevelop and revitalize arid lands in the RDAS/RIC to establish a sustainable living environment that can fill the basic necessities of the underprivileged local community. The project demonstrates energy saving, sustainable living models that include.
